Author and speaker, Rita McCarthy has worked in the Catholic Church for spiritual renewal for more than 30 years. She is a dynamic speaker and retreat leader. Rita has led prayer groups, conferences, and Life in the Spirit Seminars during her 30 years in the Tulsa Diocese. Rita has a master’s degree in Counseling and is experienced as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is the author of Yielding to the Power of God; A Workbook for Prayer, which has been recently revised. Rita has been praying for and with individuals for over three decades and understands the power of prayer.
She is the founder of the Daughters of the Annunciation, an apostolate for Catholic women. The Apostolate provides opportunities for women to grow in holiness by presenting well-known speakers in a prayer breakfast forum. The prayer workbook was intended to help with the spiritual formation of the Daughters and help raise funds for speakers.
Rita and Steve McCarthy have been married for 37 years and have three children, Stephen, David, Corinne, her husband Marc Vandermeer and baby Luke.
Rita has been ministering in Tulsa, Amarillo Texas, Florida and Indiana in '06
