Rita grew up in a Christian family in New York. Both she and her two brothers were always actively involved in serving the Lord. As a young child, she developed a love for ballet and stayed active in it for twenty years. Shortly after college she was married and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma five years later.

It was in Tulsa where she raised her three children, Corinne, Stephen, and David. While raising her children, she maintained her active role in the Catholic Church regularly leading prayer groups, conferences, retreats, and seminars.

During those years, she also obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling from Tulsa University. She soon became licensed as a marriage and family therapist. She began working with the Christian Family Institute where she received a lot of background and understanding about family system therapy. Her counseling experience included group work and individual client sessions.

unnamedSix years ago, Rita and her husband moved to a beachfront home in Florida that had been in the family for some time. While living there, Rita formed the Divine Mercy Counseling and Healing Center at St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach. Her work in the center afforded her the opportunity to offer therapy with Catholic Spirituality for overcoming life’s problems and the healing of life’s hurts. Rita believes in integrating the best of Catholic Spirituality and prayer with sound therapeutic practices for healing in both mental and emotional health.

Recently, Rita moved to the Houston area to be closer to her grandchildren and family. Through her daughter Corinne, she has two lovely grandsons named Luke and Liam. Rita also has a grandson from her youngest child, David whose has a little boy named Devlen.

Rita is currently in the process of applying for a Texas license in Marriage and Family Therapy. In the meantime, she has published a prayer book; “Yielding to the Power of God” which has been republished nine times. It offers a system of prayer with categories including Praise, Forgiveness, Repentance, Spiritual Warfare, Jesus, the Father, Mary, Intercession, and Thanksgiving all in an easy to use workbook format.
