Jeremiah 1 says “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you.”
I’m thinking that if we all had a call; what would it be? Maybe it’s a call to know God. Maybe it’s a call to feel his love? Maybe it’s a call to know whom we belong to. Maybe it’s a call to leave what our heart is set on and follow the one who stands in front of us and knocks on our door. Could we drop everything and follow love? I bet we could; I bet the deepest longing of our hearts is love and belonging. It shouldn’t be too stressful to listen, if he is the one doing the calling, Its not up to me.
I was reading some studies done in a Christian Psychology Journal; the studies were on people who followed the call on their lives and satisfaction statistics of finding life’s purpose. It got me thinking about the idea of a call on our lives.
Isaiah 43:1 “I have called you by name you are mine”
I don’t know about you but I am going to listen. Listen for my name to be called deep within. He knows me better than I even know myself, he knows my name, my heart, my struggles, my dreams. Maybe Peter and Andrew just heard Jesus call their name and they knew.
